Malawi Rock Aquarium
Our Malawi Rock Aquarium insert features recessed rear cavities to keep your internal powered or sponge filter and submersible heater hidden from view. Caves and plant anchors are included to provide your fish with safe spawning and hiding areas.
Our standard design is colored in shades of granite gray to emphasize the naturally bright colors of the Malawi and Lake cichlid families. Other colours available on request.
Installation
Simply glue the rock insert to the inside back glass panel of your aquarium using a generous dab of marine grade silicon sealer on all four corners. Clamps may be used to hold the insert in place but may damage the surface of the insert. We recommend using 2 pieces of polystyrene to apply pressure on the insert and hold it in place whilst waiting for the silicone to cure. See photo right.
Important: Allow the silicone to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before adding water.
Cycling
Our aquarium inserts are cured and pre-treated to remove toxins but we recommend that you flush the tank by doing at least 2 full water changes over a period of 24 to 72 hours. Once flushed you can cycle your aquarium as normal before adding your fish.
